Ms.HA: Hello, Huyen. It’s Ms.Hoang Anh from Ms. Hoa TOEIC Center. How are you doing?

Huyen: Hello, yeah, I’m fine. Thanks.

Ms.HA: Very good. And So have you prepared for you sample test today?

Huyen: Yes, I have. It is very interesting, I’m ready to start.

Ms.HA: OK. So before we begin, I want you to imagine that a British marketing firm is doing research in your country and you have agree to participate in a telephone interview about cell phone. OK. So the first question is: How long have you had your cellphone?

Huyen: I have had my cellphone 6 months ago.

Ms.HA: Good. You repeated with present perfect tense, that’s correct. But now I’ve noticed that you said “6 months ago”. When you are asked “How long”, you should respond with “for + a period of time” or ”since + a point of time”. For example: I have had my phone for 6 six months. You got it?

Huyen: Yes.

Ms.HA: OK, So can you please repeat it?

Huyen: Yes. I have had my cell phone for about 6 months.

Ms.HA: Good. Now the second question: how often do you call your friends on your cellphone?

Huyen: I can my friend on my cell phone about two times each day. But I’m good with texting, so I usually send them messages instead.

Ms.HA: Alright. It is very good that you use adverbs of frequency to answer my question “How often”. However instead of “two times each day”, a more correct answer could be “twice a day” or “twice everyday”. From number three, you can say three times or four, five times. But don’t forget “z” each time. One time is once, and two time is twice.

Huyen: Yes.

Ms.HA: Beside, when you can do something well, you say “I’m good AT doing sth “not” dood WITH doing sth”. Okay?

Huyen: Yes. I call my friends about twice a day. But I usually send messages because I’m good AT texting.

Ms.HA: Very good! Now the last question “Compared to traditional phones, what are the adventages or disadvatages of cellphones”?

Huyen: How much time do I have?

Ms.HA: For this question, you have about 30 seconds.

Huyen: OK.Um… I think an advantage of cellphones is that they are moveable and easy to use.

Ms.HA: Wait, wait, what do you mean by “moveable”?

Huyen: Um, is it correct… I mean because they are small, they can be carried to any place.

Ms.HA: Oh, I see. So I think it’s better to use “portable”.

Huyen: Protable? As in “p-o-r-a-b-l-e”?

Huyen: I can make a phone call anytime anywhere. Besides, a disadvantage of cellphone is that they are a lot more expensive than traditional phones.

Huyen: Oh I remember, Such as However, Nonetheless, Yet, or On the other hand. Right?

Ms.HA: Yes, correct. Now can you say that again?

Huyen: OK. However, I think a disadvatage of cellphones is that they are much more expensive than traditional phones. And these are the advantages and disadvantages of cellphones.
