Ms. HA: Hello Huyen. I’m calling from Ms Hoa TOEIC center. It’s Ms Hoang Anh, your teacher. How are you doing today?

Huyen: Hello. Yeah, Great. Are you calling about the TOEIC Speaking “Sample test”?

Ms. HA: Good. So have you prepared for it?

Huyen: Yes, I have. It is very interesting. I’m ready to start.

Ms. HA: OK, let’s start. Before we begin, I want you to imagine that an English language Radio Station is Preparing a story about delivery services. And you have agreed to participate in a telephone interview about delivery services.

Ms. HA: OK, So the first question is: How long does it take to get an item you ordered online?

Huyen: It costs me from 1-2 days, together an item I ordered online.

Ms. HA: Good, I see that you tried to say “It costs me one or two days”. Howwever, in my question, I asked you “How long does it take”. So in your answer you should repeat “It takes me about one to two days”. Can you say that again?

Huyen: OK. It take me from 1-2 days, together an item I ordered online.

Ms. HA: OK. Very good. So the second question is “What items do you usually have delivered?”

Huyen: I usually ask them to deliver books and fashion clothes. Because they are not heavy weight. I don’t have to pay a bonus shipment fee.

Ms. HA: Good. So I noticed that you said “fashion clothes”. However, the correct pronunciation should be “Clothes”, so it should be “z” instead of “iz”.

Huyen: Besides, you should say “They are not heavy”. Finally, a “bonus” is something you get as a reward for your good perormance. So I believe you mean “an added amount of money”, so I suggest you use the word “extra” – “an extra shipment fee”.

Ms. HA: Yeah, I got it. I usually ask them to deliver books and fash ion clothes because they are not heabvy weight, I don’t have to pay an extra shipment fee.

Huyen: Right. So the last question. Is it necessary for a company to charge you an extra fee for an express delivery?

Ms. HA: In my opinion, I think it is necessary for a deliver company to charge you an extra fee when you have your items sent by express mail.

Huyen: OK. So you tried to express your opinion. However, “In my opinion” and “I think” are both used to express your personal opinion so you can just choose one to use in your sentence. For example, you can say “In my opinion, it is necessary…”OK? And “delivery company”, not “deliver”.

Ms. HA: In my opinion, it is necessary for a delivery company to charge you an extra fee when you have your items sent by express mail.

Huyen: Alright, do you have anything else you want to add to your answer? For thí question, you have 30 seconds. So you expected to give more information such as some details, some reasons or some examples, to make your answer more convincing. OK. You got it?

Ms. HA: Because I think it is equal that you should pay more for bigger and heavier items.

Huyen: Do you want to give it another shot?

Ms. HA: Otherwise, they will conclude it in the products’ price.
